Deadlines are near! Attention!

Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,

Greetings to all of you from the Kodály Institute of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Kecskemét. I am informing you that the application deadline for the various study programmes at the Institute is near. Deadline for receiving applications for the BA in General Music Studies with Kodály emphasis and MA in Kodály Music Education is February 15, deadline for the other postgraduate courses (music pedagogy, choral conducting, lied accompaniment, piano and voice pedagogy) is March 1.

Due to the undiminishing interest in our study programmes during the last two academic years we had over 40 students enrolled in our programmes. This year we have 45 students from 18 countries here with us including 12 extremely dedicated MA students.

This time I would like to ask you to forward this email to those contacts of yours who might be interested in studying in our wonderful Institute in Kecskemét.

I thank you for your cooperation with appreciation:

Dr. László Norbert Nemes

The most important class, however, for me and for hundreds of other Hungarian musicians, was the chamber-music class. From about the age of fourteen, and until graduation from the Academy, all instrumentalists except the heavy-brass players and percussionists had to participate in this course. Presiding over it for many years was the composer Leó Weiner, who thus exercised an enormous influence on three generations of Hungarian musicians. (Sir Georg Solti)
