Cultural Awards for Liszt Academy Professors

On the occasion of 15th March – National Holiday marking the Anniversary of the 1848 Revolution – István Hiller, Minister of Education and Culture has granted the traditional prizes for achievements in the field of culture and art. Some of our professors are among those who received an award.

 

 

The Golden Cross of Distinction was given to

 

Tibor Márkus - jazz pianist, composer, President of the Hungarian Jazz Association 

 

 

Prize of the Republic of Hungary for Excellence in Art was awarded to

 

Péter Erdei - choir conductor

Attila László - jazz-guitarist

Gabriella Thész - choir conductor

 

 

Liszt Prize was granted to

 

József Gábor  - pianist

Katalin Kokas - violinist

 

 

Nádasdy Kálmán Prize was received by

 

Máté Mesterházi - music historian

 

 

The Márciusi Ifjak Prize founded by the Government of the Hungarian Republic aimed to award the outstanding young talents was, among others, given to

 

András Csáki - guitarist
