I. Korean Liszt Competition

The 1st Liszt Competition was organized in Korea at the end of August by the Korean Liszt Society and was sponsored by Korean companies and the Hungarian Embassy in Korea.

 

The competition was of the highest standards with more than a 100 participants, out of them 44 qualified for the finals. Hungary and the Liszt Academy were represented by Professor Péter Nagy, Head of the Piano Department.

 

The Grand Prize of the competition was a 1-year scholarship at the Liszt Academy. It was awarded to Ms. Soo Jung Park unequivocally.

 

After the competition Prof. Péter Nagy gave a recital of great success and held master courses, too.

 

The principal organizer of the Liszt Competition was Professor Hwang who is giving a recital at the Old Music Academy on the 9th of October, 2009.
