Admission requirements for MA studies - Trombone

 

 

 

1. Couillaud: etude nr 1. from the “30 Modern Etudes” edition. 

 

2. Two contrasting (fast and slow) movements of a Baroque sonata, or solo piece completed during the BA studies, at the choice of the candidate.

3. A concerto, or a piece of similar difficulty.


One piece from Point 2 or 3 has to be played from memory.

 

 


 

General Admission Requirements – MA

 

Written examination:

 Bass harmonisation: harmonisation of a bass line of cca. 10 notes, indication of the accords with figures.

 Analysis: formal analysis of the opening movement of a sonata from the stylistic circle of Haydn and Mozart piano sonatas.

 

 Exam in general music studies:

 a. Identification of 10 music pieces - possibly composer and title, but at least the epoch or style and identification or

     the genre.

b. Explanation and interpretation of 10 music terms, concepts, titles, etc.
